Robert "Bobby Black" Wright

Robert D. “Bobby Black” Wright, resident of Chesterfield, Michigan passed away on May 15, 2022 at age 50. Beloved son of Bob (Kathy) Wright and the late Etta Walker. Cherished boyfriend of Jill Guzek. Adored father of Jack (the late Jennifer Powers) Riot, Kayla (Bo) Black, Jessica Wright, Melina Wright and Pixie Wright. Loving Papa to Liam. Sister of Tammy Wright.

Bobby was known for kind heart and his dedication to his passions in life. This included his family, first and foremost, his love for music and his pride as a member of the Freewheelers Motorcycle Club. He was a one of a kind person with a sense of humor that knew no bounds. Bobby learned how to play guitar at the age of six, he was taught by his mother. He quickly learned of his passion for making music and joined his first band, The Offenders, at the age of 15. Bobby went on to become a local legend with roots in many different bands: Diablo il gato, Bobby Black and the Runnin Kind, Dead Bob, Twistin Tarantulas, The Hamiltons, and many many more. As a man known for his “bad” jokes and his rough demeanor and gruff voice, he truly had a heart of gold and loved his grandson Liam with all of his heart. His children remember him fondly and continue his memory with gifted pieces of jewelry over the years. Bobby spent a total of one year and six months as a member of the Freewheelers and dedicated his life to them, helping with charity events and benefits for members of the community. His longtime partner, Jill, spent everyday by his side.

Bobby was a man who may have seemed rough around the edges but really was softie with a big heart, he will be greatly missed by many many friends and family members.

Visitation will be held at Bagnasco and Calcaterra Funeral Home at 25800 Harper Ave St. Clair Shores, MI 48081 from 3:00pm-9:00pm on May 21, 2022.

A funeral service and a sharing of memories will be held for Bobby the following day at 11:00am.
