Kathleen Case

Kathleen Higgins Case was born on September 22, 1938 in Akron, Ohio.  Her parents were James Higgins and Mary (Donahue) Higgins.  She had one brother, Patrick.  During her childhood, she lived in many different parts of the country, as her father pursued a business career that involved a number of corporate re-locations.  Her education followed a Catholic regimen from elementary school through college.  She graduated from Marygrove College in Detroit in 1960 with a degree in Education.

She married Jim Case on July 5, 1963 and continued her career in teaching.  Her career was put on hold as she and Jim started a family that includes four children – Jim, Ann, Chris and Andy.  Once her children were in school, she resumed her career with Ross Learning, where she achieved success for over twenty years, attaining the position of Director of Education.

Kathleen had many passions – including reading, swimming, politics, musicals, and college football.  She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, and she gave them unconditional love and support throughout her life.  Her legacy is defined by her integrity, intelligence and sense of humor, as well as the impact she made on the lives of those around her.

Visitation Thursday, August 9 from 4 to 9pm at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 25800 Harper Ave., St. Clair Shores. Instate Friday 9:30am until time of service 10am at the funeral home.
