Dominic Calcaterra

Dominic M. Calcaterra, age 95, a resident of St. Clair Shores passed away peacefully at the Shorepointe Nursing Home in St. Clair Shores. He was born on July 11, 1925 in Detroit, the son of Rico and Rose Calcaterra. He spent many years as a design Engineer for Fruehauf. Dominic and his family were residents of St Clair Shores for 64 years. During that time Dominic served on the St Clair Shores Zoning board. He was the longest member to serve on that board and received an honor for his service. Dominic also coached for the North Shore Baseball Association coaching his son and friends He also was very active as a member of the Knights of St. John. He was an usher and a member for San Francesco Parish. He and his wife loved to travel (Las Vegas-Florida and anytime they could catch a gambling bus trip. He lived a wonderful full life filled family and friends. Beloved husband of the late Betty. Dear father of Carol (Rob) Janes and Raymond (Pamela) Calcaterra. Loving grandfather of Dawn, Lori, Matthew and the late Alyssa. He was blessed by 5 great grandchildren Dillon, Anthony, Brandyn, Jacob and Cameron. Friends may visit the family at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 25800 Harper (Three blocks north of Ten Mile Road), St. Clair Shores on May 22nd from 10am until 2:30pm concluding with the Rosary. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
